How to get to Tallinn City Centre?
From the Tallinn Airport
To get to the Tallinn University from the Airport, we kindly suggest you to take a taxi. There are taxies available in front of the Airport building. Since Tallinn Airport is fairly small you will easily see the taxies waiting in front of the arrivals gate. The cost of taxi drive to the Tallinn University should be approximately 10-15 EUR. About the same rate applies when driving to the pre-booked hotels (Nordic Hotel Forum, Original Sokos Hotel Viru, Solo Sokos Hotel Estoria, Park Inn by Radisson Central Tallinn, Tallink City Hotel and Radisson BLU Sky Hotel).
You can also use public transportation. The airport’s bus stop is located in front of the terminal of arrivals. Bus No. 2 travels on the route Mõigu - Passenger Port. In the city centre the bus stops next to Viru Keskus at A. Laikmaa Street.
Tickets are sold by the bus driver upon. Please note that only cash payments are accepted. Ticket costs 1.60 EUR and will grant you the right for one ride.
Timetable is available HERE. From the airport to the city, find schedule named ''Mõigu-Reisisadam'' where the bus stop ''Lennujaam'' means the Airport and in the city centre the bus stop name is „A.Laikmaa“.
From the Port of Tallinn
To get from the harbour to the Tallinn University you should take a taxi. You can find taxies in front of the harbour building (and if you cannot find one, please turn to the information desk). The taxi drive to Tallinn University should cost approximately 7 EUR.

The taxi fares may slightly vary depending on the traffic and company. Please note that most of the taxies accept only cash payments, therefore you should change some money in advance, or do it at the currency exchange points (there are exchange points at the airport and at the harbour).
Public transportation in Tallinn is by buses, trams and trolley buses. A ticket purchased from the driver (at the price of 1,60 EUR) will grant you the right for one ride. Only cash payment are accepted to buy a ticket from the driver of public transport vehicle. A passenger will be required to keep the one-end ticket until the end of the ride. One end ticket is not marked, punched or validated.
Another option is to purchase a Public Transport Card for the price of 2 EUR. The cards can be purchased in various points of sale. Load money onto your Public Transport Card or buy an e-ticket. It can be done at a point of sale, with a mobile phone, or on Internet. Validate your journey with the Public Transport Card immediately after entering the public transport vehicle.

One stop with tram No 1 takes you from city centre (stop: Hobujaama) to Tallinn University (stop: Tallinna Ülikool).

Upon arrival to Estonia you can find exchange points in airport, railway station, harbour and bus station.
ATM’s and currency exchange are available in most shopping centres.
Shops are usually open from 10:00 until 18:00 on weekdays and on weekends.
Larger department stores are open between 9:00 and 21:00.
Best shopping facilities in Tallinn can be found in the city center: Stockmann, Tallinna Kaubamaja, Viru Keskus etc. Many nice boutiques and handicrafts galleries can be found in the Old Town around Raekoja Square.
